Consider and Hear me, Oh Lord my GodI grew up in a happy home and had a happy childhood. My parents always took us to church, and I enjoyed going. One day the Sunday school teacher told us that God was more than a blue mist in the sky. A couple of years later another teacher told us how Jesus was knocking on the door of our hearts. There was no door handle on the outside; only we could open the door to let Christ in. I went home that very day and asked the Lord Jesus to come into my heart. Two years after that, I became involved in a young people's group. The leaders were very much alive. They had a real touch with the Lord. They taught us how to pray and many in our group were getting saved. It was wonderful. However, there was a misunderstanding in that organization. Some did not realize the great work the Lord was doing in our midst, and the leaders were asked to leave! I wanted to know where they were going. They were going to meet with a group that took the ground of the church, the ground of oneness with all Christians in that city. There was a sweet witness in my spirit that that was where I wanted to go too. I wanted to be in a place where I knew everyone was really a Christian--not just the Sunday-go-to-meeting type, but those who followed the Spirit. During those years I would go around my home singing loudly a portion of a psalm we had sung in the choir, Consider and hear me, Oh Lord My God! Consider and hear me, Oh Lord My God! Lighten my eyes, lighten my eyes, least I sleep the sleep of the dead! This was all more than 30 years ago, and I am happy to still be meeting with the local church on the ground of oneness. I enjoy a wonderful fellowship with Christians all over the world. I began meeting with the local churches in New Mexico, and have been in local churches in Georgia, Virginia, and now in Arkansas. I am so happy He has brought me to the local church. M.K. | Back to List |
